Get Data via NC OneMap Viewer

The NC OneMap Viewer is the flagship service and public presence of NC OneMap. The viewer gives everyone with an Internet browser the ability to view and use data sets provided by numerous government agencies. No GIS software is necessary; just a web browser. Standard GIS mapping tools are explained. Navigating and using the data are easy.

The viewer displays a rich resource of local, state, and federal government data, including historical imagery from 1993 and 1998. Local data, such as parcels, streets, zoning, jurisdictional boundaries, orthoimagery, i.e. aerial photography, is combined with state and federal data, in real time, as you zoom or pan to a desired geographic area.

You can find an address, use imagery, plot a journey, see environmental data, add a buffer, and even print the map that is on your screen.

What Can I Download?

The viewer allows data that appears on your map canvas to be downloaded as an ESRI shapefile, as long as the data resides in the NC OneMap database maintained by the Center for Geographic Information and Analysis (CGIA). If a local government is the host for some of your selected data themes, the Download button will link you to the active county or city download page. Follow their instructions.
